Simran out of Malayalma remake
- 21.01.2008
There was once a time when the Tamil film industry tolerated the star-tantrums that the former No 1 heroine Simran threw on the sets. But these days, the actress is waking up to a new reality.
Though she is married and has a kid now (which is bad news as far as heroines are concerned in Tamil), Simran continues to look for opportunities and is more than ready to even star as heroines of comedians-turned-heroes, it looks as if the industry has lost its patience towards her.
She was first picked up to play Jyothika's role in 'Chandramukhi' but was dumped because she was pregnant. There were a few other offers too but she was removed from those films too. She found favorable response only from Malayalam and Telugu films. After her squabble with the Malayalam director and producer, she has lost her popularity in Malluwood too. Her film in Telugu has bombed badly at the box office.
She was offered the chance to play the heroine role in the Tamil version of 'Katha Parayumbol', named 'Kuchelan', starring Rajinikanth in the lead (but she wouldn't be his heroine in the film). Even before the film's shooting began, she finds herself out of the film.
Rumors have it that they weren't happy with the exorbitant demands that she made.
