Rahul Mehra seems to have a close association with the city of Chennai. A couple of years ago, he had got married a Chennai-based north Indian girl. Rumors are on that even before the marriage happened, he was romantically involved with the actress.

Rahul and Shobana had gone to watch a film in one of Chennai's posh movie halls.

As bad luck would have it, the estranged wife's elder brother, a Chennai-based businessman had come to the theater along with the entire family, to watch the same film. When he saw his soon-to-be-former brother-in-law with the actress, he lost his cool and shouted abuses at them. He also accused the actress of having destroyed his sister's life.

Rahul caught hold of his shirt collar and before it became a full-fledged fight, onlookers separated them. The businessman has filed a complaint against Rahul for physically assaulting him.
